SERVIDYNE HELPS THE STATE OF GEORGIA CUT SPENDING

ATLANTA – February 22, 2011 – SERVIDYNE, INC. (Nasdaq: SERV), an energy efficiency and demand response company, today described the cost reductions and environmental benefits the Company estimates are now occurring as the result of an energy savings project it completed in 2010 for the Georgia Building Authority (GBA) as a subcontractor for another firm.  Servidyne installed more than 20,000 energy efficient T8 lamps and premium high efficiency electronic ballasts at thirteen GBA-managed buildings in Atlanta, including the Georgia State Capitol and the Coverdell Legislative Office Building.

Servidyne estimates that the annual consumption of electricity in those buildings has been reduced by approximately 3,240,000 kWh as a result of its work, which is expected to save Georgia’s taxpayers approximately $260,000 a year in avoided utility costs. In addition, the Company estimates that these energy conservation measures have eliminated more than 5 million pounds of CO2 emissions from the atmosphere, equivalent to taking almost 325 cars off the road or saving nearly 660 acres of trees.

“As a Georgia-based company, we are particularly proud that we were selected to improve the energy efficiency of the historic Georgia Capitol Hill Complex, and thereby help our home state cut spending,” noted Todd Jarvis, Servidyne’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “This kind of initiative creates green jobs in local markets, and contributes to the State’s efforts to reduce the budget deficit by eliminating unnecessary annual expenditures.”
