SERVIDYNE AWARDED $1.3 MILLION ENERGY EFFICIENCY CONTRACT BY COBB COUNTY, GEORGIA

Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the project is expected to save Cobb County’s taxpayers at least $300,000 a year in avoided utility costs

ATLANTA – March 3, 2011 – SERVIDYNE, INC. (Nasdaq: SERV), an energy efficiency and demand response company, today announced that it has started work on an approximately $1.3 million energy efficiency project for Cobb County, Georgia. Upon completion, it is estimated that the project, which is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program, will save Cobb County’s taxpayers at least $300,000 a year in avoided utility costs.

The Company has commenced auditing the county’s facilities in order to identify and prioritize the available energy savings opportunities, and expects to complete its project work over the next 6 months. Servidyne was selected by Cobb County and awarded the contract after a highly competitive public procurement process, based on the Company’s energy efficiency expertise, project management skills and proven successful track record.

“As a company headquartered in Cobb County, we are particularly pleased and honored to have this opportunity to help our home county cut spending,” noted Alan R. Abrams, Servidyne’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Each year we perform energy-savings projects for customers located throughout the U.S., and it is particularly gratifying to be able to work right here in our own back yard.”

Servidyne believes it is well positioned to perform successful government projects. One of the attributes that sets the Company apart is its familiarity and expertise in meeting the intricate terms and conditions of ARRA-backed projects. In October 2010, Servidyne started work on an approximately $5.8 million retro-commissioning project for the Georgia Department of Corrections, under a contract with the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, which is also backed by ARRA funding.

“Energy-savings programs like this are true win-win opportunities,” added Todd Jarvis, Servidyne’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “They create green jobs, reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and ultimately contribute to governmental efforts to cut budget deficits by eliminating unnecessary spending. This project will pay for itself quickly, but the benefits and annual savings for Cobb County will be sustainable for many years to come.”
