ENERGY STAR Label
Establishing efficiency goals.
ENERGY STAR® is a nationally run program offered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. It provides carefully developed energy efficiency standards, and encourages energy efficient products and practices. ENERGY STAR for buildings incorporates a rating system to help you achieve your energy and environmental goals.
Establish an energy rating.
Having an ENERGY STAR rated building ensures improvements in energy consumption, financial performance and environment impact. Why does the EPA offer this program? To help property owners and managers make their buildings become more energy efficient, produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and safeguard the environment for future generations.
We can guide you.
Servidyne can advise you through an individual phase or we can manage the entire process. We are experts in properly rating buildings through ENERGY STAR. Our service offers unique advantages in many ways. There are several areas, such as building floor area, utility data, tenant computer rooms, parking garages and operating hours that can greatly affect your ratings, and only an experienced team like ours can ensure that your ratings are accurate. This is extremely important should you decide to move forward with the LEED-Existing Building (LEED-EB) certification process.
How do you stack up?
ENERGY STAR provides an energy performance rating on a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the most energy efficient and 1 being the least. The score represents a percentile ranking compared to the overall national building stock. The ENERGY STAR Label is awarded to buildings that score 75 or above, indicating they are in the top 25 percent of buildings across the nation. With a rating of 75 or above, a building is eligible for the ENERGY STAR Label. However, before the Label is awarded a Professional Engineer (PE) must perform a site visit and verify data and complete an application for the label.
Take the guesswork out of the process.
Achieving the ENERGY STAR Label is no easy task. You should have an expert to assist you through this process. There may be areas of the rating process you may be unfamiliar with or areas where standards have changed. Innocent mistakes can generate the wrong rating. Don’t risk the possibility of inaccurately determining your score – Servidyne can help. We offer a turn-key service that includes properly benchmarking a facility’s energy consumption, having a PE perform the site visit, and completing the Statement of Energy Performance and Label Application.
Create value in your individual buildings and portfolio.
